RUGBY
TO-DAY’S BIG MATCH COOKE AND MILL TO PLAY. SPRIGGENS PARK ATTRACTION. Technical College Old Boys are hopeful that they will be able to prevail against the formidable Masterton Old Boys’ side which is to play them on Spriggens’ Park this afternoon, despite the fact that that “wizard of Rugby,” A. E. Cooke, will lead the visitors and that the work at the base of the scrum will be in the capable charge of Jimmy Milk
The Masterton side arrives this morning and are reported to be fit and well. Though bright sunshine and a hard ground will not be conducive to fast, rugged play, there is every prospect of a bright, open display. The home team is to field talent of no
mean order and there are critics ready to accord the .club a high place on the Metropolitan ladder, even this early in the season. Teams will line out as follows: Masterton Old Boys. Clemett Hunt Roache Hardie Cooke (capt.) Smith Mill Aitken Donoran Smith Le Qucsne Santy Clarke McCalmont Bennett Reserves: Riddell, Innes, Falloon Technical College Old Boys. Stewart Tilley Ambrose Weir Reid Delves Derbyshire Durie Granville Fowler Williams Stewart White Ward Signal Reserves: Crichton, Kitney, Thompson, A. Bassett, K. Bassett. After the match the visitors will be the guests of the home team at a dance.
