JAMMED IN CABIN
DROWNED IN WHITING A man’s death in a pit of liquid whiting was described at an inquest at Greenwich on Sidney James Rolfe, aged 36, a crane driver, of Deptford. Rolfe was driving an electric crane used to take the whiting to ihe drying kiln at Messrs Musselwhite’s factory at Deptford, when the cabin eollapsc-l and somersaulted, with Rolfe jammed inside, into the pit. This was 12 feet deep and contained 20 tons of whiting. A fire brigade officer said that he and his men worked for more than two hours in removing Rolfe tioni the cabin. A verdict of ac.eidental dcilh was returned
