OBITUARY
MR G. Si READE [ Per Press Association.] AUCKLAND, Dec. 5. The death is reported of Mr Gifford Sherman Reade, aged 84, donor of land and money for a naval college to be built at Holbrook, Suffolk, amounting in all to about £1,000,000. Mr Reade spent 35 years in India, where he amassed a large fortune, and came to New Zealand 14 years ago.
