RACIAL BITTERNESS
STRONG IN SOUTH AFRICA ANTI-BRITISH GOVERNMENT [ Per Press Association.] WELLINGTON, Dec. 5. The Hon. Air Triggs and his wife arrived from London by the Ruahino after an extended tour which included South Africa. He took part in tho in-tei-Parliamentary Conference in Berlin. He expresses himself as shocked at the racial bitterness in South Africa, and the distinctly anti-British feeling shown by the Hertzog Government. The treaty with Germany effectively debarred any further preference to Britishmade goods, British immigration or the investment of British capital. Tho anti-imperial spirit was shown chiefly in the Transvaal and the Orange Free State, and was strongly resented by the Natal and Rhodesia, which are thoroughly loyal to the Alother County.
