DURIE HILL BUS
BASIS OF COST DETERMINED COUNCIL TO NEGOTIATE FOR GUARANTEE The offer of tho Durie Hill Ratepayers’ Association to guarantee any loss sustained on the running of a temporary bus service to the hill during the Christmas holiday period was considered further by the Tramway Committee of the City Council yesterday afternoon.
The following decision was arrived at: That a special committee confer with the Durie Hill Association and ask for a guarantee on the basis of 10$d per running mile, plus wages, benzine and running repairs. The IOAd has been apportioned to cover interest and sinking fund, overhead, depreciation and a proportion of the tyre cost. In order to meet the position the Council will have to take out an extra bus license for the period, but tho cost in this connection, in the meantime, lias not been assessed to bo met by the guarantors.
