EXPENSIVE BATHING
SEVEN SHILLINGS FOB “DlP.*’ Air W. K. Percival, Town Clerk of Randwick, who returned to Sydney on the Aorangi last month, has been observing things in Britain and America. The first shock he got in * ‘ God’s own country’’ was when he discovered that bathing houses were privately controlled, and 7s was the imposition before a person could even get his feet t wet. Some of the costumes also hurt Afr Percival’s susceptibilities and he was emphatic that they would never be tolerated on Australia’s beautiful beaches. Naturally, Mr Percival was keenly interested ift municipal administration abroad, and his conclusion is that Sydney has nothing to learn It would improve the suburbs, he thinks, if fences were taken away from 4 all houses.
