REALISATIONS AT WESTFIELD [ Per Press Association.] AUCKLAND, Dec. 4. The quality of ox beef at Westfield to-day was first-class. There was a good demand. Last week’s values were fully sustained. Extra choice ox sold to £2 2s per 100 lb., choice and prime ox £1 18s to £2 Is, secondary and plain ox £1 15s to £1 17s, prime young cow and heifer beef £1 15s to £1 14s. Extra heavy prime steers ranged from £l6 to £l7, heavy prime steers £l4 15s to £l5 17s 6d, lighter prime steers £l3 10s to £l4 12s 6d, small and unfinished steers £ll to £l2 7s fid, extra heavy prime young cows and heifers £ll to £l2 ss, heavy prime cows and heifers £9 to £lO 17s fid, lighter prime cows and heifers £8 10s to £7 7s fid, other killable cows £5 10s to £7 7s 6d.
There was a full yarding of sheep, which met with a steady demand. Values for lightweight first-quality wethers were slightly firmer, and other classes were unchanged. Extra heavy prime wethers made £1 8s 6d to £1 9s 9d, heavy prime wethers £1 7s 6d to £1 8s 3d, medium to heavy prime wethers £1 6s 6d to £1 7s 6d, light to media, l prime wethers £1 5s to £1 6s 3d, prime hoggets £1 7s to. £1 8s 9d, lighter prime hoggets £1 5s to £1 6s 9d, light and unfinished hoggets £1 3s 6d to £1 5s 3d, extra heavy prime young ewes £1 Is to £1 3s 3d, heavy prime ewes 19s 6d to £1 0s 9d, lighter prime ewes to 19s 3d, other killablo ewes 15s to 17s 9d. Spring lambs were penned to the number of 215, as against 285 last week. Competition was spirited and at ruling rates. Heavy prime lambs made £1 5s 9d to £1 6s 9d, lighter prime lambs £1 4t to £1 5s 3d, light prime lambs £1 2s to £1 3s 9d, small lambs £1 Is to £1 Is 9d. Fat and young calves were penned in average numbers. Competition was steady, all classes selling at values fully equal to those ruling last week. Runners made £5 10 to £8 ss, heavy vealers £4 5s to £5 Is, medium vealers £3 12s to £4, light vealers £2 12s to £3, small vealers £1 16s to £2 3s, bucket-fed calves £1 8s to £1 ss, rough and unfinished calves 18s to £1 3s, fresh dropped and small calves 7s to 17s.
There was an average yarding of pigs. All well-finished sorts sold at ,prices on a par with late rates, unfinished pigs not being in demand. Choppers made £1 15s to £4 ss, according to weight and quality, heavy prime baconers £3 15s to £4 Is, one extra special baconer £5 4s, medium baconers £3 9s to £3 12s, light £3 Is to £3 ss, heavy porkers £2 12s to £ 2175, medium £2 8s to £2 10s, light £2 3s to £2 6s, small and unfinished £1 13s to £1 18s. No stores were offered. Slips made £1 3s to £1 6s, best weaners 36s to £2 Is, smaller 9s to 13s.
