BABY WAKES UP THE COURT
A bored baby at the police court, at Enfield, England, recently caused a sensation. While a mother gave evidence a policeman held her small child. But the baby had no respect for burly policemen or court proceedings, and, when nobody was looking, took th e policeman’s whistle out of his pocket and blew a shrill note. Everybody jumped up in alarm and for some minutes ther e wa s confusion, until the smiling culprit was noticed with his new toy. Order was restored, and baby had to become bored once more by the dull affairs of grown-ups; but everyone else went on with the case in a better humour.
