AN IMPRESSIVE CEREMONY

SCENES or PAST RECALLED VISIT TO MAORI CHURCH An interesting, and dignified little ceremony took place at the Parewanui Maori Church on Sunday when Miss N. Wilson, of Scout and Girl Guide fame called upon Miss Wikitoria Marumaru and her Sunday School class of Maori children. Miss Wilson’s visit and her interest in them, together with her explanations of the Scriptures, were much appreciated by the children and their young teacher. Miss Wilson’s presence at the Parewanui Church revives o!4 memories of thc early association of the Maori people of thc lower Rangitikei, with the Christian religion and will no doubt obtain good results and reveal its beneficial character in the future of the rising generation. The last person to conduct a Sunday School class of Maoris, at the above already mentioned church was Mr Wilson, whose activities ceased about the year 183 T).
