TECHNICAL COLLEGE

SUCCESSFUL SALE OF WORK. A very successful sale of work was held in St. Paul’s Hall on Friday afternoon, being the joint effort of the College and the Parents’ Association. Many of the parents and pupils had been at work for some time before the function and the articles exhibited in the work stall were so numerous and varied in nature as to supply almost every want in this direction. The gathering was addressed by Mrs W. A. Veitch, who congratulated parents and pupils on the results of their efforts and Mrs Veitch then called upon Mrs .T. Patterson to declare the sale open. The college orchestra, under Mr G. Buckley, contributed some enjoyable items. Good business was done and by 5 o ’clock every article was sold. Those in charge of stalls were:— Cake stall, Mrs J. Patterson; work stall, Misses G Duncan, M. Wallace, F. Andrew; produce, Mr G. Holgcrson; flowers, Misses Myers and Soeberg; competitions. Misses J. McNiven and L. Browning; ice-cream, Miss M. Williams; sweets, Mrs Sheppard and Mrs Mcßrearty; side-shows. Masters Morice and Mark Luxford, and Masters Young and Sandford; afternoon tea, Mesdames J. Boyd, and Baylor and Hutchinson.
