General situation—A moderate anti-cyclone has been crossing New Zealand to-day. A depression is advancing gradually over the southern Tasman Sea. Forecast Wmds: Northerly freshening and becoming strong at places from Cook Strait southwards. Seas (New Zealand waters): Generally smooth to moderate, but rising later south of Cape Egmont and about Cook and Foveaux Straits. Weather: Fair to fine, but clouds increasing generally and conditions becoming unsettled soon in western districts, with scattered rain. Mild temperatures.
