At a special meeting of the Bangitikei Agricultural and Pastoral Association held recently, it was decided to hold the annual show on Alarch 5 and 6 instead of February 19 and 20 as previously decided upon. MAJESTIC THEATRE Ronald Colman appears to-night at the Afajestic in the United Artists’ production “The Rescue.” It was directed by Herbert Brenon, who made “Beau Geste” and “Sorrell and Son.” “The Rescue” also affords Lily Damita, Air Goldwyn’s importation from the ranks of French stars, her American screen debut. The dancing commences at 8 p.m. with the picture programme. HUNTERVILLE THE TOWN BOARD The ordinary monthly meeting of Hunterville Town Board was held on Tuesday night. Present—Cr. W. H. Bowick (chairman), R. A. Gordon, W. J. Whyte, F. C. Berry, W. O’Brien, and W. H. Thomas. An apology for absence was received from Cr. G. B. Gregory. The Railways Department wrote stating that the quoted charge for connecting th® stationmaster’s residence with the town water service was too high, and it was proposed to connect to the extraordinary station supply. Tn reply to the chairman the foreman said the railway staff had made a start connecting to the extraordinary plyAfter some discussion it was decided that the District Engineer be written to asking that any work be suspended until permission of the Board had been obtained. At the request of the Chamber of Commerce the Town Clerk was permitted to carry out the duties of Librarian. Two applications for water supply were referred to the foreman for report as to cost. A letter from the lessee of hall ask-, ing for a variation of his lease was received. The hall committee reported receipts for the month of September to be £4l 18s 4d. The works committee were authorised to proceed with the metalling of Ongo Road in readiness for sealing.
