FOR THE LADIES’ TITLE CHAMPIONSHIP CONTEST YESTERDAY’S RESULTS. [ Per Press Association ] CHRISTCHURCH, Sept. 30. The third round of the New Zealand ladies’ golf championship was played to-day in perfect weather. The only surprise of the day was Miss O. Stevens’ £asy win over Miss Payton, who, however, re-established herself as a first-class player by returning thp best gross score in the afternoon. Results: Mrs Hodgshun beat- Miss MacCormick 6 and 5. Miss .Barnett beat Mrs Mills 2 up. Mrs Fraser beat Miss Gaisford % 2nd 1. Miss O. Stevens beat Miss Payton 6 and 5. Miss O. Kay beat Miss Rathbone 5 and 3. Miss Beadel beat Mrs Weston 3 and 1. Mrs Collinson beat Miss Pharazyn at the nineteenth hole. Miss Chrystall beat Mrs Kerr 3 and The L.G.U. Challenge Bowl was won by Miss H. Loughnan with a net score of 71. Miss Payton (79) won the prize for the best gross score. The best cards were:— ■
