[ Australian Press Assn. ] Received Sept. 3C, 11 p.m. LONDON, Sept. 30. “Those who misunderstood us say that we are slipping into the ditch of unbelief, but we remember that where the Lord is there ds freedom,” stated the Bishop. “The sense of religious freedom is the exhiliarating thing in modernism. We must set the Christian message against a new background. Fear paralyses too many religious teachers to-day.” The Bishop added that modernist churchman will not put a. mascot on a motor car or have a car blessed by a priest in some fanciful pseudo-relig-ious service.
