REMARKABLE FATALITY

LEG IN ANCHOR BOPE Thomas Calvert, aged 47, a commercial traveller whose home is at Glenbrook, met his death in peculiar circumstances when fishing in a skiff in Pittwater, near Newport, recently, says a Sydney newspaper. The police expressed the belief that Mr Calvert met his death while in the act of throwing the anchor overboard. The police theory is that he must have overbalanced and fallen into the water, fop when his body was recovered the anchor rope was entwined about his right leg, and his body was suspended about 10ft. from the bottom of the water.
