KARAMEA REPORTS Wireless advice received by L. D. Nathan, Ltd., from the Shaw, Savill and Albion motor ship Karamea states that she expects to reach Auckland from London next Monday The vessel has a general merchandise cargo for discharge at Auckland, Wellington and Napier. If the vessel arrives according to her wireless report she will have made a fast passage from Balboa. THE GOLDEN CROSS With lumber, case oil and general cargo from Pacific Coast ports, the Oceanic and Oriental Navigation Company's steamer Golden Cross is scheduled to arrive from Los Angeles next Tuesday. The cargo is for discharge at Auckland, Wellington and Lyttelton.

Messrs Johnston and Co. report: The Commanbante Destremau is due at "Wanganui at the end of the month from Noumea to discharge phosphate. The Arapawa is due to-morrow from Onehunga. The Haweia is due to-day from Wellington.

Messrs Holm and Co. report: The Holmdale is due here to-day, and sails for Picton, Wellington, Dunedin, Oamaru, Timaru and Lyttelton. The Himatangi loads in Lyttelton on to-morrow, Wellington on Monday, and is due here on Tuesday.

G. Frankham, Limited. The cargo is for discharge at Auckland, Dunedin, New Plymouth, Wanganui and Lyttelton. THE HINEMOA The steamer Hinemoa is having her hull cleaned and painted, at Auckland. MESBAGERIES MARITIMES COMPANY The Services Contractuels des Messageries Martimes have decided to place orders for three liners. Two will be of the Felix Roussel type, and placed on the Far East run, being 170 metres in length, 21 metres in breadth, and 14 metres in depth, 10,200 tons dead-weight, and 10,000 h.p. The third vessel will be placed in the Indian Ocean service, and will be somewhat similar to the B#rn«-rdia-n de St/ Pierre,

namely, 144.6 metres in length, 18.7 metres in breadth, and 12.5 metres in depth, 72000 tons dead-weight, and 6000 h.p. Two of these orders come under the normal programme, while one is intended to replace the steamer Paul Lecat, destroyed by fire last December. It is understood that none of these orders will be placed in Germany on reparations account. One will go to the associated concern, the Societe Provencale de Consctructions, Navales, La Clotar, while tenders will be invited for the other two. THE TAMAROA A. S. Paterson and Company, Ltd., have received advice that the Shaw, Savill and Albion liner Tamaroa is due at Wellington from London and Southampton on September 18. In addition to passengers and mail for New Zealand the vessel has general merchandise from London for discharge at Wellington and Auckland. She is expected at Auckland about September 25. THE POST GISBORNE The Farmers' Co-operative Auctioneering Company has received advice that the Commonwealth and Dominion Line motor ship Port Gisborne is being delayed at Napier and cannot reach Auckland before to-morrow morning. The vessel will complete loading at Auckland and in consequence of the delay her departure for New York, Boston, Halifax and London has been postponed attil Monday night.
