CLEARING SALE
FIRST OF SEASON Freeman R. Jackson and Co., conducted on Tuesday last, the first sale of the season; on account of Air E. R. Nicholson. For a sale so early prices realised were exceptionally good and we have to report a very good free sale with very keen competition on everything which was offered. Air Nicholson has tested every beast, had her calving date and factory returns from each cow over a period of three months. Buyers knew what each beast had returned and being a good clean herd well into the Jersey, elicited keen competition. Best Jersey cows, second to fourth ealvers, early culvers, made from £l5 to £18; others from £lO 10s to £l4. The whole herd averaging between £l2 and £l3. Jersey heifers, spring ealvers, £7 to £8 15s: weaner heifers, £3 18s; aged mare £26 10s; waggon £l3; mower £l6 ss; and other sundries sold at prices very pleasing to the vendor.
