THE MAJESTIC.

One of the big kicks in “Red Wine,’’ literally, as well as figuratively, is the lavish cafe sequence wherein the Marion Morgan dancers romp and stomp to heart’s content. More than a hundred “extras’’ in full evening dress furnish the atmosphere. In addition to the Marion Morgan ballet are specialty numbers featuring Bo Ling, the Chinese dancer; Lilani Deas, Hawaiian hula hula girl; Margaret La -Marr, {Spanish beauty with the castanets. “Red Wine,’’ in the last analysis, is an expose of how tired business men iclax, and is the last word in night club life. Conrad Nagel, Hollywood’s tremendously popular actor, heads the cast with the lovely June Collyer, opposite. “Tall Timbers” is the supporting feature and has an ex-Wanganui girl, Lily Sim, in I the leading feminine role. It is a 'strong story of the Australian bush. This programme will be shown for the last time this evening. TO-MORROW. ‘ ‘Revenge.’’ “Revenge,” the new Dolores Del Rio starring vehicle, to be shown tomorrow at the Majestic Theatre, in the opinion of Director Edwin Carewe, presents Miss Del Rio in the type of role which would spell failure for the average leading lady. Yet to the Mexican player it offers the greatest opportunities she has known. Finis Fox, who wrote the scenarios for “Resurrection’’ and “Ramona,” while searching for a likely plot for Miss Del Rio, found a little story in a book called “The Bear Tamer’s Daughter.” The story dealt with the life of an untamed, wild-spirited gipsy girl, the daughter of the Rumanian King of the Gipsy bear-tamers. “Revenge” is heralded as probably the most unusual moving picture of the new season. It is filled with thrills, dramatic moments, intrigue, love and romance. Scenes showing as many as one hundred bears, some wild and others tame, are common throughout the early part of the picture. Miss Del Rio has one of the greatest parts ever offered to her in the colourful gipsy girl who despised men and bears because they became as docile as lambs under her fiery dominencc. Miss Del Rio has a cast of wellknown players appearing in her support in “Revenge.” Leroy Mason is Jorga. Director Carewe believes Mason’s interpretation of this part will make him one of the most soughtafter leading men in pictures. Jose Crespo, the Suanish film star is the rival lover and Rita Carewe the producer’s daughter, popular in her own right, enacts the jealous Tina, hated enemy of Rascha. James Marcus heads the remaining cast, which includes hundreds of colourfully garbed gipsies.
