Concluding a long leading article entitled, “Another Work Stopped’’ the Herald says: “The Government may think that at Palmerston North it has merely stopped something. Actually it has started something and no negligible thing at that. On the main arguments used there has be'en established the absolute need of reviewing in a rj st careful manner every railway project ,in contemplation, lest one or all of 'them will fail ‘to p.odrce any additional revenue to the railways whatever.’ That is what has been started as the Palmerston North deviation has been stopped.’’
