PAMOANA CLUB MEETS. ELECTION OF OFFICERS. ; Following a meeting held on April ; 6, when it was decided to resuscitate ' the i’amoaua Football Club, the annual general meeting was held in the KorinHi Hall last Saturday night at 7.30 p.m. In spite of the heavy rain that :iell during the whole afternoon there I was a large and very encouraging at - ! tendance. Owing to the absence of the 1 president and the chairman Mr R. i I’okiha was voted to the chair. j Jn his opening remarks the chairman extended a very hearty welcome to ail [ who had attended for the purpose of I putting fresh lite into the club, especi..ally paying a tribute to the good work of Mr G. Dicker, who has been instrumental in working up interest in the ; reformation of the club. .It was a , pleasure, he said, to have at least one 1 pakeha who would take so much inter- | est in the welfare of the club. He ex- ■ pressed the hope that all would endoav- ’ our to show 7 how much they appre- : ciated that interest by giving their support and co-operation to a greater : degree than was evident last year. j The report and balance-sheet were I presented for discussion and approval. I Jn moving the adoption of the report [and balance-sheet, -Mr Dicker cx- : pressed great pleasure in being present I at the meeting and remarked on the [ creditably clear manner in which the ■ report and balance-sheet had been set out, showing clearly the activities of i the club. Though the report showed a | disappointing record so far as the past ; year was concerned he hoped that the club would show a more successful result at the end of the .1929 season. Mr M. I‘okiha seconded the adoption of the report and balance-sheet and the motion was carried. The election of officers for the ensuing year resulted as follows: — President: Mr G. Amorangi asked that, a football ground he prepared for the use of the club, thus saving continuous travel upriver, and after due consideration a • late was fixed to work the ground offered by Mr R. Pokiha into playing order. It i a hoped that the club’s opening match of the season will be played on their home ground.
