Cuthbertson now holds ..he leading position with lhe narrow margin of one point, while .four others are hard by all the time. Hix-Bird Handicap.— '1 his match proved a very close contest. Dunlop (14yds), Donnelly (13), A. McKee (13)» W. .McKee (12) ami Kempton (13) each secured 5 breaks and divided the prize money, while Burgess yIG) and T. Cuthbertson (13) drew for s.ccond place with four breaks each. Six-Bird long rise.—Five shooters entered for this event, Dunlop, Donnelly and A. M( Kee scoring four breaks each, Burgess three and Komptoa winning with live to his credit with first barrel only. Six-Bird Match, all off .18 yards.— This event was won by .Mr J. Donnelly -an Auckland visitor, with he six to | his credit, while Burgess, Dunlop ami ! Kempton cleaned up five, D. Smith 'four, and A. McKee two. | The Club this year has bejen allotted 1 the N.Z. Gun Club’s North Island Clay ’bird Championship and this big event [will draw, in all probability, some s>n lor 60 of the top-notch shooters of the North Island to compete on Saturday, April 27, commencing immediately after the local club’s open hoot for £5O which is timed to start at 9 a.m. Another special attraction will be the teams competition to be hold on the club’s grounds on Friday, April 26, when the final for the Colonial Ainntu nit ion Coy. ’s Teams Cup will be fought out by teams of seven men a-sidc from Stratford, Palmerston North, Taihape and Marton.
