AIRPLANE DESIGNER’S WIFE Airs Viola Fokker, the attractive young wife of the famous airplane designer, was killed a lew weeks ago in a fall from the fifteenth storey of an apartment house in Park Avenue, one of the most exclusive residential thoroughfares in New York. The accident occurred two hours after Airs Fokker had been discharged from a hospital, where she had been treated for nervous disorders. Her husband was asleep in the next room when thc tragedy occurred. The couplo had been married two years. Mrs Fokker was 29. Fokker, the famous Dutch airplane designer, whose ’planes played such an important part in German aerial defences during the war, has established himself successfully in New York, and has designed a number of long-distance ’planes for trans- Atlantic flights.
