SOUTHERN CROSS FLIGHT CLAIM FOR £20,000 DAMAGES f Australian Press Assn. I Received April IG, .11 p.m. SYDNEY, April 16. Writs claiming £2(1,000 damages were to-day issued on behalf of SquadronLeader Kingsford Smith ami FlightLieutenant Ulm, against Smith Newspapers Limited, owing to the publication in the Daily Guardian yesterday and to-day of statements and comments reflecting upon the Southern Cross flight and landing. NO INQUIRY COMMITTEE 'S DECISION [ Australian Press Assn. 1 SYDNEY, April 16. The Air Accidents Investigation Committee, which was created by the Federal Government in 1927 to inquire into the reasons for all forced landings, has intimated that it does not intend to hold any inquiry regarding the Southern Cross unless directed to do so by the Federal Government.
