CASTLECLIFF CLUB SATURDAY’S MEN’S FOURSOME A men’s foursome played at the Castlecliff links on Saturday resulted in a very close game. Despite the fact that a senior had to take a junior as a partner, good cards were handed in. The winners proved to be Currie and Keenan with a net 62. Smith and Bassett .. 104 30—74 MAXWELL CLUB OPENING DAY'S SUCCESS COMPETITIONS COMMENCE SOON The Maxwell Golf Club held their opening day on Saturday when there was a large attendance of members and friends. The links were in splendid order and the alterations recently m. de, which have greatly improved the course, were the subject of favourable remarks. For the beginning of the season the standard of play shown was very good and all players thoroughly enjoyed the afternoon’s play. Among the ladies the best cards were returned by Miss L. Morrison adn Miss R. Darbyshire. S. Wills and H. G. Birch returned the best cards among the men. During the afternoon light refreshments were partaken of and wore much appreciated. On Saturday next a start will be made with the season’s competitions. To drive a long distance from the tec is every golfer’s ambition. No golf ball can be driven further than a ‘‘Kro-flite.” Lengthy, accuracy and perfect balance. Spalding’s ‘‘Krollite” Golf Ball obtainable from all Sports Dealers. It lasts till it’s lost.
