BODY IN NEW YORK [ Australian Press Assn. 1 NEW YORK, April 2?. The flag-draped coffin containing th( remains of Mr M. T. Herrick, th< American Ambassador, who died in Paris, was brought ashore to-day from the French cruiser Tourville, and placed on the caisson of a field piece, shrouded in black and purple and drawn by six horses. It was followed for an hour’s journey through thp silent streets, where the people and officials paid their respects. The coffin was then placed on a train for Cleveland, where it will be buried. The warships Marblehead and Cjncinatti followed the Tourville into the inner harbour. Fort Jay fired 21 guns as a salute to-tho half-masted French flag. All the flags on tho city skyline were at' half-mdst.
