Has two monuments erected in memory of fallen soldiers, one for Trooper George Hyde, killed in tho Boer War; tho later erection to commemorate the memory of those who gave service in the Great War. This park was purchased by the borough, the moving spirit in securing such being the late Mr J. J. McDonald, many times Mayor of Marton.
