Dear Wendy,—l Lave enclosed 3/- to help buy some little thing for the poor family of whom you wrote last week. It is from “Lady Bird,” “Xmas Boy,” and “Daddy’s Boy.” Wendy, the children get such a lot of joy out of your pages. They can’t understand how Father Christmas could possibly forget to pass any stocking by on Christmas Eve. They seem to look on you as a “Fairy Godmother.” Wishing you and all the Wendyites a Happy Christmas—from "MOTHER OF FOUR,” Ohingaiti. DEAR -MOTHER OF FOUR." How pleased I was upon opening your letter to find you had sent me on behalf of “Ladybird,” ’Xmas Boy,” and “Daddy’s Boy,’’ three shillings towards the fund I had started to enable that poor family, ol whom I wrote last week, to enjoy a happy Christmas. It. is a very sad case, and I do thank you so much for the kindly i feeling that prompted you to help me. I am glad to know that the children derive sc much joy from our pages. It encourages me to try and make them better still. How happy 1 am to know that Father Christmas is not going to forget them, as ' sometimes he does some children. Goodness me! How ever am I to live up to the ' conception the children have of me? Still, 1 will do my best, and I cannot possibly i fail when I have support such as yours. Very sincerely yours, WENDY.
