LABOURITES' DOUBTS ABOUT THE MERGER ( Australian A«7.. 1 LONDON, Dec. 5. In the House of Commons a crop of seven Labour questions were directed at the Postmaster-General concerning the terms of leasing the cable and beam stations, and whether safeguards were taken to prevent the beam being subordinated to cabin interests. The Postmaster-General indicated that at present, he was unable to state the provisions of tho contract. He reiterated his promise to lay them or tho table. If the terms were disapproved of they could take the ordinary course of a vote of censure. Mr Wedgwood Bei.r.: Inasmuch a- tho contracts provide for the payment of grants for Imperial beam telephony, will you not lay the papers on the table in accordance wtih the standing orders? The Postmaster-General: The fact is that no grants will be piid.
