WESTFIELD SALE [ Per Press Association 1 AUCKLAND, Nov. 1. At Westfield there was an average yarding of ox beef, which sold under steady competition at prices on a par with last week’s rates. Lighter sorts sp< eiaUy were very firm. One truck of bullocks realised £l6 15s to £l7 12s 6d. Another realised £l5 12s 6d to £l6 12s 6d. Fat oews and heifers came camo forward in less than average numbers, and were very firm at last week’s rates. Young cows and heifers rca.ised £lO 10s to £ll, and lighter sorts £2 5s to £9 10s. Extra choice ox sold to 45s per 1001 b, prime young cow and heifer beef to 40s. Sheep: An average yarding of sheep came forward for which*prices showed a decline on last week’® rates. Extra
heavy prime wethers (woolly) made 4ls 6d; shorn, 355; heavy prime woolly 38s !>:!.; shorn 33s 3d; medium shorn 30s; heavy prime ewes, woo'ly 35:-; shorn 26s 6d; lighter woolly 30s; shorn 23s 6d; other ewes, woolly 255; shorn 22s 6d. Lambs: More than an average yarding of spring lambs came forward and sold on a par with last week’s prices. .Prime heavy lambs made 29s 6d; me •di uni 28s 6d; light 245. Calves: Average numbers of calves sold readily under good competition. Heavy vealers made £4 8s to £5 6s; medium £3 10s to £4 (is; light £2 10s to £3 7s; rough 20s to 40s. Figs: Prices for porkers remained firm, with the demand for baconers rather limited. Heavy baconers made £3 to £3 6sj medium £2 1.4 s to £2 18s; light £2 10s to £2 ]3s; heavy porkers £2 8s to £2 J2s; medium £2 4s to £2 7s; light £2 to £2 3s.
