SLIPS IN THE WAIRARAPA
EXPRESS DELAYED [ Per Press Association. I MASTERTON, Nov. I. The express train from Woodville to We lintgou ran into a slip threequarters of a mile north of Mangamahoc this afternoon. The engine was derailed, the front bogey being wrecked but fortunately none of the passenger cars left the line and no one was injured. A special train despatched from Masterton conveyed the passengers to their destinations, the train leaving Masterton two and three quarter hours behind time, A large gang of men is at work on the s ip, which is expected to be cleared to-morrow, 'but even if it is not cleared then passengers will be transhippod. Heavy rain has fallen in the district in the past three days, many s ips blocking the roads, and flood waters inundating low-lying levels.
