ONE-LEGGED CYCLIST
DESCENDANT OF FAMOUS MAORI Making a tour of the North Island of New Zealand on a bicycle, Rihari Heke, the one-legged returned soldier who claims to be a descendant of Hone Heke, will arrive in Wanganui this afternoon from Patea. It is his intention, so he informed a ‘‘Chronicle” man by telephone last night, to leave Patea at 10 a.m. to-day, and he expects to arrive at the Wanganui Post Office between 3 p.m. and 4 p.m. Starting from Auckland on September 22, the cyclist is making his way via the King Country, Mount Messenger and Taranaki down the west coast of the North Island.
