Events march with uncanny quickness in this city. The latest sensation, following cn the heels of the bomb outrages, is the filing of shots at a house by a party in a car late last night. A young man walking home along Toorak Road, states that he saw a car pull up by a house which was near a fashionable quarter in South Yarra. Three shots were fired, quickly followed by sounds of splintered glass. The car moved off, and when turning the corner into a nearby street, two more shots were fired. A police patrol were soon on the scene, and found outside the house another car, believed to be stolen, which was unoccupied but contained a dressing gown and a bottle of beer. The lady of the house was unable to throw any light on the occurrence.
