Following upon :hc success of powdered coal on the Stuart Star (10.500 ,ons). the first British/vessel to use it, itht-: Blue Star liners in the South \nt« n service will be converted to ise 1.. - fuel. On the Stuart Star, which has returned from a seven weeks’ voyage to South America, pulverised Tyne coal was burned for heating one of her four boilers, an air compressor blowing the dust into the burners.
