NEW MOTOR SHIP KARAMEA Starting on her maiden voyage, the Shaw, Savill and Albion Company’s new motor ship Karamea was to leave London for Auckland and Wellington on September 12. She is a sister-ship to the company’s new motor ships Zealandic, Taranaki and Coptic. Her arrival at Auckland is scheduled for October 17. THE BARON INCHCAPE The New Zealand Shipping Company have been notified by cable that the Baron Inchcape arrived at Panama on Monday from Sydney (C. 8. Montreal and Newport News, and sailed again on Tuesday for Auckland, Wellington, Lyttelton, Dunedin and Sydney. She is due at Auckland on October 8, and at Wellington a week later. FOUR FULL SHIPS No fewer than four steamers are now en route from Montreal to New Zealand, and each is said to be packed with general merchandise—all being carried at a reduced flat rate. The Canadian Conqueror is bringing cargo for Wellington, Lyttelton, Timaru, Dunedin and Bluff; the Canadian Winner carries cargo for Auckland and Wellington: the Canadian Explorer will call at Auckland and continue on to Australia. The fourth vessel is the New Zealand Shipping Company’s chartered steamer Baron Inchcape, which is bringing cargo for Auckland, Wellington, Lyttelton and Dunedin. Two other steamers—the Canadian National Steamers* Canadian Highlander, and the New Zealand Shipping Company’s Wirral—are scheduled to load at Montreal for New Zealand. The Canadian «*ighlander is to sail for Auckland, Wellington, Lyttelton and Dunedin on September 25 and the Wirral will leave for the same ports five days later.
