MAGISTRATE WARNS FARMER MOTORIST [ Per Press Association 1 CHRISTCHURCH, Sept. 14. Alexander Hamilton, a Springston farmer, was to-day charged ith driving a motor dangerously in Cambridge Terrace. The police said that Hamilton met a young woman and they had some drinks together. At 6 p.m. they came out of the hotel and got into Hamilton’' car. The woman said that she would like to learn to drive and she got into the driver’s seat. Hamilton was seen loaning over her and was controlling the car and helping her to drive. They stopped near the Y.M.C.A., and were arrested. Hamilton was not drunk, but tho woman had had too much liquor. The Magistrate: There’s only one thing to do with this man and that is prohibit him from driving. He is not fit to drive, and, moreovc, there is a very unsavoury aspect of the case. Defendant is fined £2O and costs, and his is cancellc'" He is prohibited from getting another p or two years. If he comes before the Court again, with his record, he will go to gaol.
