SWIMMING
MARATHON SWIM BIG MONTREAL EVENT AUCKLANDER TO COMPETE AUCKLAND, Juno 26. New Zealand will be represented in tho 15-mile swimming Marathon to be held at Montreal on September 15 by A. A. Baird, the well-known Auckland swimmer. The first prize is £lO,OOO. The race is an annual one and in past years lias attracted swimmers from all parts of the world. Baird is ono of the best known of the Auckland long-distance swimmers. Last year ho accomplished several harbour swims.
