DEFENCE RIFLE CLUB. [ Special “Chronicle" service, j The annual meeting of the Waverley Defence Rifle Club was held on Saturday evening, Mr A. S. Hone presiding over a fair number of members. The balance-sheet showed a credit balance of £54 19s Bd. Accounts amounting to £ll 5s were passed for payment. It was decided that a shoot be held on the local range on Saturday next betwen local marksmen and members from the Kai Iwi Club. The secretary was instruced to distribute the sum of £22 16s as trophy money won during the season just closed. The election of officers resulted:— Patrons, Messrs W. H. Wybourne and R. P. Palmer; president, Mr A. S. Hone; deputy-president, Messrs D. Walker and T. Peapell; handicapper, Mr W. F. Alexander; range officer, Mr T. Peapell; coach, Mr W. F. Alexander; secretary, Mr J. E. Palmer. All sitting members were re-elected to the committee. Mr G. H. Graham was appointed auditor. It was decided that the president, handicapper, and Mr D. Walker be the' shoot committee, and Mr A. Williams will be in charge of the ammunition. Messrs F. Taunton and F. Hickford were elected new members.
