AVIATION IN AUSTRALIA FLYING TOUR ORGANISED SYDNEY’, June 24. With an active membership approaching 600, and with the enrolment of no fewer than 36 new pupils immediately following its recent big pageant, the New South Wales Aero Club has more than justified itself, its latest undertaking is a big £. : ??g tour, which will be the first organised in Australia, and, as far as is known, in any part of the Empire, and in connection with which a big fleet machines will make a three days’ tour to the Federal capital and other parts of the State. The club has inaugurated an acti.e campaign for the establishment of municipal landing grounds throughout New South Wales. The aim is to urge local bodies to lay down suitable aerodromes in country centres, in furtherance of purely commercial flying. Judging from letters already received, the response to the club’s appeal s likely to be very satisfactory.
