The Civic Commissioners decided not to accept Maling’s resignation, dated June 1, but dismissed him as from the date of <his suspension from the position, of deputy manager of the city’ electricity department. The Commissioners also instructed the civic authorities to deman»d a deposit by Mating into the city funds of £10,600, said to have been received by him as a secret commission in connection with the contract for the supply of certain plant. The city solicitor has been instructed to obtain an opinion regarding the recovery of money from other persons concerned.
