JOHNSONVILLE SALE. Messrs Abraham and Williams, Ltd., and Wright, Stephenson and Co., Ltd., report on the Johnsonville sale, held on Wednesday as follows:—The quality of both sheep and cattle yarded was only medium, there was a poor attendance of butchers, and bidding was fairly slack throughout, although several pens of maiden heifers sold keenly. We quote:—Bullocks, £ll ss, £ll 12s 6d, £ll 15s to £ll 17s 6d; medium light, £lO to £lO 15s; heifers, £9, £9 7s 6d, £9 10s, £9 Jss to £lO 2s 6d; cows, £8 15s to £9 10s; vcalers, £2 17s 6d, £3 Is, £3 5s to £3 15s; wethers, 37s 9d to 38s 6d; ewes, 28s 9d, 30s. 6d, 31s 6d to 33s sd; lambs, 28s, 29s to 325.

FEILDING SALE

Messrs Abraham and Williams Ltd., report having yarded a fair entry of sheep and cattle at the Feilding sale on Friday, the yarding, however, being smaller than that of last week owing to the Palmerston North show. Prices for fat sheep were on a parity with last week. Quotations: —Sheep. —Fat wethers 33s 3d, 355, 39s 4d; x fat ewes 255; fat lambs 22s sd, 22s sd, 265, 26s 6d, 26s 4d, to 26s 9d; store wethers 25s 9d, 30s 6d; store ewes 16s; 4 and 5-year ewes r.w. Southdown rams 35s 6d. Cattle: Cows in milk £6; cows at drop £10; spring calvers £9, £8 15s, £8 10s, £8 ss, £8; empty heifers £5 2s 6d; forward cows £4 10s; store cows £1 15s, £2; fat bullocks £lO 2s 6d, £9, £7 10s; fat heifers £8; fat cows £8 ss, £7 10s, £6 2s 6d, £5 7s 31, £5 ss.

Dalgety and Company Ltd., report having a moderate yarding of sheep at Feilding, all of which changed ha Is. There was also a fair entry of cattle, comprising mostly Jersey weancr heifers, but bidding was very dull. One exceptionally choice pen of Jersey weaner heifers offered on account of Mr S. Macaulay in conjunction witn Messrs Abraham and Williams, realised £6 Is. Quotations; —Fat lambs 16s to 30s 8d; fat wethers 38s Id, 38s 2d, 39s 8d to £2; fat ewes 30s 6d; m.i. ewes r.w. Southdown rams 30s 6d to 34s 8d; springing cows £5 10s, £6 10s to £8; forward cows £3 6s, £4, £4 15s; 2-year empty Jersey heifers £4 18s 6d; 2-ycar steers £6 3s; cows and calves £4 10s; Jersey weaner heifers £3 10s to £4; extra good Jersey weaner heifers £6 Is; fat cows £7 ss; light fat bullocks £9 16s to £lO 4s; potter bulls £lO.

Levin and Co. Ltd. report having offered a medium entry of both sheep and cattle to a small attendance of the public at Feilding. The prices realised for fat lambs were not quite up to recent sales, but a good clearance was made at values quite satisfactory to vendors. Fat sheep were firm at late rates. With the exception of a few good lines, and sale of store sheep was inclined to drag, but wo made a good clearance at slightly lower values. The small yarding of cattle sold at late rates.
