SATURDAY’S GAMES

HINEMOA AND STAR DRAW. The hockey fixture between Star and Hinemoa A in the men’s senior division played at Gonville Park on Saturday afternoon, proved a thrilling encounter, each team coming out with two gotas at the finish. The second game, between Old Boys and Wesley, did not evoke nearly tho same amount of interest, Old Boys having matters their own way to the tune of six goals to one. The Star-Hinemoa game was played at a rare pace, the final score being a fair indication of the standing of tho two teams. Star by no means had an off day and they experienced a severe gruelling, play shifting continuously from one end of the field to the other. Hinemoa showed splendid form, never giving their opponents opportunities that might lead to trouble. Tizard was responsible for both goals secured by the maroons. Adamson also scored two goals for Hinemoa. The referees were Messrs D. Howell and A. Fisher. Old Boys had no trouble with Wesley, play for the most part being of a very orthodox nature. For the winners McDonald scored five goals and Lc Brun one. Thrush scored for the losers. The referees were Messrs Atkins and Thompson. Junior Game. Star juniors defeated Hinemoa juniors by four goals to two. Skilton shot three goals and G'lenny one for the winners, while for the losers Berry found the net twice. Ladies’ Match. The results of the ladies’ matches were as follows: — Star 6, Girls’ College B 0. Aramoho A 6, Girls’ College A 1. Old Girls, A 9, Old Girls’ B 0. Wesley 3, Aramoho B 0.
