THE MAJESTIC Lovers of stirring, colourful romance have a treat in store at the Majestic Theatre to-night when “The Road to Romance,Ramon Novarro’s next picture to “Ben Hur,’* will be screened;. Based on the famous story, “Romance,” by Joseph Conrad and Ford Maddox Heuffer, the picture version is faultless—a picturesque, thrilling and romantic piece of entertainment. The happy combination of Conrad anti Novarro affords much opportunity for Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer's modern standards of production and an absorbing story i s presented with unforgettable realism. The many who will want to see the hero of “Ben Hur” again will see hyu at his very best, supported by many brilliant players. Roy D’Arcy is a particularly sauve villian and Marceline Day is ideal as the heioine. Mare McDermott aivl Jules Cowles also appear to good effect Since the days of Wallace Reid, there has been a keen shortage of fast moving films and audiences arc deploring the lack. Recently, however, a new star has blazed forth with a series of pictures which .have more speed to the film foot than the late lamented Wally ever dreamed of. The player is Frank Merrill, world renowned athlete, whose latest picture “The Fighting Doctor” will be the supporting feature. This Hercules production staits with a crash and end's with an explosion and all along the line things happen so quickly that pne gasp of astonishment is smothered with another. Stunts, thrills, dangers, a thrilling rescue, a strenuous gang fight, a realistic wrestling match a glorious speed boat race—one after another they flash on to a stupendous climax. Interwoven in the plot is a love story worthy of the action.
