CHAMPIONSHIP BOUT HEENEY'S BOLD BID. MANAGER EXPRESSES CONFIDENCE. [ Per Frees Association I GISBORNE, Juhe 7. In a letter to Tom Heeney’s parents his manager, Mr Bernard Mortimer, says that Tom has never been hurt in any of his fights and that Tunney will not hurt him as he is made of wrought iron. The want of real success in England is explained by a minor internal complaint, which was remedied before going to America. Win or lese the championship bout Heeney will return to New Zealand. Mr Mortimer says that England’s send-off to Tom was the greatest ever accorded an athlete, and adds: “Tom knows that he has behind him the whole support and sympathy of the British Empire.” The letter concludes with an expression of confidence in Tom winning the title.
