With bulk oil for the Atlantic Union Oil Company, the new Norwegian motor-tanker Ranja sailed from San Pedro last Monday. The oil will be unloaded at probably Auckland, Wellington, Sydney and Melbourne. PIPIRIKI LEAVES CAPE BRETON. The New Zealand Shipping Company has been notified by cable that the Pipiriki arrived at Sydney (Cape Breton) on May 11 from Montreal and sailed again on May 12 for New York to complete loading. The vessel is to sail from New York on May 22 for Auckland, Wellington, Lyttelton and Dunedin. END OF SHIP WEATHERSFIELD. The old ship Weathersfield, well known in the trade between London and New Zealand, has been sunk outside Suva. Some years ago she was purchased by the Union Steam Ship Company, and used as a hulk at Suva. NORWEGIAN MOTOR TANKER RANJA The Norwegian motor tanker Ranja has been chartered by the Atlantic Union Oil Company to load a full cargo of bulk oil pt California for discharge at Wellington, Sydney and Melbourne. The Atlantic Union Oil Company is the latest company to enter the oil trade between America and New Zealand and Australia. The Ranja, which is bringing the company’s first shipment of oil to New Zealand, is a new vessel and was launched only last February. NEW OIL BURNER NIEUW ZEELAND. Advice received by Messrs Dalgety and Co. from Sydney states that the new 11,000-con oil burner Nieuw Zeeland, built in Holland for the Sumatra-Singapore-Java-Austmiia service, has carried out most successful official trials. The steamer was to leave Rotterdam on April 17. She will make her initial trip from Belawan Deli (Sumatra) on June 17, and arrive at Sydney on July 6. The vessel will leave Sydney again on July 21 for the East. WILLASTON FROM NEW YORK. Messrs A. Hatrick and Co.
