MILITARY TRAINING

GENERAL YOUNG’S VIEWS PRAISE FOR THE TERRITORIALS I Special "Chronicle” Service. J AUCKLAND, May 18. A word in praise of the present day Territorials was spoken by General Young at. a returned soldiers’ gathering. The present “boys,” he said, were quite as good as the members of the New Zealand Expeditionary Force were and he felt confident that if they were called upon they would do their part equally as well as the Dominion’s soldiers in the late war. The General went on to remark that while a good deal was heard in opposi tion to military training, he was quite sure it was a good thing for the boys who underwent it. It was in their interests to be disciplined to turn out well and to too the mark, and he added that so long as he had th° backing of the returned soldiers throughout the Dominion he did not care tuppence for anything else.
