AMERICAN WORD “BUNK” DEFINED. The correspondent of the Forum have given some interesting definitions of “Bunk,” that expressive American word used to indicate attributes, qualities, &c., which, in the interest of truth, should be “tdebunked” from biographies, histories. &c. Here are some amusing ones: — “Bunk is mental junk.” “Bunk is what is left of the world’s w'isdom and experience after modern youth has picked out the things it. considers essential.” “Bunk is the treasure chest of the advertising man, the bugaboo of the scientist, and the limbo to which the average man consigns everything thar he doesn’t understand.’’ “Bunk is the produce w’hcu concc>f is multiplied by loquacity; the quotient when perfidy is divided by deflation; the remainder ivhon effervescence is subtracted from presumption; the sum when hypocrisy is added to fraud.
