WANGANUI EAST CLUB NIXON CUP AND OTHER GAMES On Saturday four rinks from Wanganui East Bowling Club visited Waverley and suffered defeat by four points in an extra round of the Nixon Cup competition. The visitors were I welcomed by the president, Mr H. Spratt. ’ At the conclusion of the play NFr A. W. Jones, president of the Wanganui Fast Club, returned thanks for hospitality and wished the Waverley Club every success in the final games to be played next Saturday. A special general meeting of Wanganui East bowlers and all ladies interested is being called for next Thursday evening in All Saints’ School, to arrange social evenings for the winter; and other business. All members should make a special effort to attend.

WANGANUI CLUB “VETERANS” AND “YOUTHS” On Saturday on the Wanganui green a match between the “veterans” (over 55) and the “youths” (under 55) was played. In spite of the gusty weather a very enjoyable afternoon’s bowling resulted as follows, the veterans’ names being given first:— Morrison, Davis, Moynihan, Crawford 13 v. Harding, McPherson, Hedditch, McFarlane 26. Addenbrook, W. Blyth, Harkness, Keesing 27 v. Stewart, Meyer, Lami bourne, McAneny 20.
