DOGS LOST
KILLED ON ROAD RANGER NO STRANGER TO DANGER. The ranger to the Wanganui County Council is, unfortunately, no stranger to the menace to a dog on the highways covered during working hours. Mr W. E. Broderick, at monthly Council meeting, said the ranger had asked him to bring up the matter of insuring dogs. Two valuable dogs had been killed on the roads while in service. “Evidently they did not keep to the right side,” remarked Mr A. I). Mackintosh, chairman, “but the loss is to be regretted. ’ ’ It was also stated that the ranger had attempted to insure his dogs at every insurance office in this city, without success.
The Council, however, found it could take no action in the matter.
