NO BED LONG ENOUGH
THE TALLEST HOSPITAL PATIENT At a Chelsea inquest on Ernest Seldon Smith, aged 63, who died from hardening of the arteries Dr. Sandiland said he was the tallest patient who had ever been in hospital. He was (>ft. 7in. in height, and they could not get a bed long enough for him. The deputy-Coroner, recording a vs* - diet of death from natural causes, said he thought it would be a good idea ’f hospitals secured: a bed for such tall patients.
