r MORE CRITICISM “UNTRUE STATEMENTS.” Received March 30, 9 p.in. (A. & N.Z.) SYDNEY, March 30. At the Nationalist Party conference, Sir Neville Howse, speaking on behalf of the Federal Government, characterised Mr W. M. Hughes’ remarks on the Government’s migration policy as absolutely and deliberately untrueHe added that he considered that the present was the most serious position the Nationalist Party had ever been called up<A to face. He then moved a motion of confidence in the Government, and affirming the conference’s satisfaction at the manner in which ■ the Government had safeguarded the' interests of the Commonwealth by its I administration of the migration laws. Xhg motion is still being debated.
